Workout at Himmel Park

One thing I enjoy about being in Tucson is working out at Himmel Park. It’s an 8 minute bike ride from where we stay and they have all the equipment I need to do my body weight workout.

On the west side of the park are pull-up bard and parallel bars for dips and l-sits. Once I’m done there I head to the west side where there’s a bar for rows and I do push ups on the grass.

RICE

Rest. Ice. Compress. Elevate.

RICE

These are some of the most important words in medicine. There is a whole bunch of technical reasoning behind why these four actions are so helpful when recovering from an injury, but you don’t need to understand anymore than these four words.

The sooner you can implement these actions the faster you will recover and get back in action. I encourage you to see how far you can go with each of them.

In the shot above I have accomplished all four actions while recovering from knee surgery. My goal is to get movement back to an acceptable range so that I can start strengthening the leg again. Swelling plays a huge role in mobility so ice is critical.

Most ice packs suck. They just aren’t large enough to cover the entire knee and stay cold very long. I prefer a back of ice in a trash bag. It covers the whole knee and lasts a long time. All for a couple of bucks.

Get healed and get back out there.

How we add Fresh water to fill our rv

Adding fresh water to your rv can be a challenge when boondocking

Roger made a video showing how we fill our fresh water tank from our water jugs.

Ever wondered how we stay for fresh and so clean? We shower with fresh water of course! The problem is that we only have a 40 gallon tank and we average about 7 gallons per day between the two of us. So at best we are only gonna make it a little over 5 days before we need more water. Rather than hook the trailer up once a week we fill our 7 gallon water jugs and pour them into the tank. After 6 months on the road we have a pretty good system for pouring it in.
